Little Stream Bakery is a Canadian based small business with environmental integrity. From the beginning, Little Stream has been a leader and innovator in the natural foods sector. It has always been an organic bakery, and is still one of the few bakeries in Canada to use only sourdough starter, with no yeast added to any breads. All Little Stream breads are vegan.
Graham Beck founded Little Stream Bakery in 1992, and its reputation for exceptional quality quickly attracted a devoted following. Over the years, the bakery has become renowned not only for the distinctive, complex flavors of its artisan breads but also for its commitment to inclusivity. Since 2003, Little Stream Bakery has expanded its offerings to include a wide range of gluten-free breads, catering to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
Our gluten-free breads stand out for their dense, moist, and cake-like texture—achieved without the use of added sugar. Designed to be easier to digest than typical gluten-free loaves, they provide a wholesome, nutrient-rich option that doesn’t compromise on flavor or quality. At Little Stream Bakery, we believe everyone deserves bread that’s as nourishing as it is delicious.
Experienced and Dedicated Team
Our small, close-knit team ensures consistent quality in every loaf. Some of our staff have over 20 years of service and are deeply committed to their craft. As a certified organic producer, we meticulously track the origin, provenance, and inventory of all ingredients, bringing the same level of care to our gluten-free baking process. Owner and founder Graham Beck remains hands-on in both production and administration, ensuring every loaf meets our high standards.
Walking the Walk: Green Initiatives and 1% for the Planet
Little Stream Bakery is committed to sustainability and giving back. As a member of 1% for the Planet, we contribute 1% of our sales to environmental organizations focused on protecting and restoring ecosystems, with special attention to the local Tay Valley watershed.
We also prioritize minimizing our environmental footprint. Solar panels power our bakery, providing electricity and heating water sustainably. Additionally, our deliveries are made using fuel-efficient minivans, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. At Little Stream, caring for the planet is baked into everything we do.
